Qualifications

Qualifications Include:

  • Degree in Agriculture.
  • Proven experience in developing an agricultural program from the ground up.
  • Experience with livestock as well as efficient irrigation.
  • Experience in management.
  • Ability to learn the local language.
  • Adaptability to the Indian culture.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Analyzing existing operations, crops, livestock, staff, and financial documents and recommend improvements.
  • Preparing plans and schedules for planting and harvesting, ensuring staff understands expectations.
  • Visiting the different divisions to inspect crops and livestock and to perform test on soil and water.
  • Ensuring seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies are regularly restocked.
  • Scheduling repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery.
  • Handling the marketing and sale of products produced on the farm, such as fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat, and grain.
  • Ensuring all staff adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Assisting with the recruiting and training of new staff members.
  • Building professional networks and keep abreast of developments in agricultural science.
  • Installing irrigation systems or other methods of improving water retention in soil.
