Leverage your agricultural skills to bring transformational hope to marginalized families and communities in Paraguay!

IDEAS partners with an NGO in Paraguay that operates a small farm resource center and community center in a rural community. The center features a test garden, teaching kitchen, community meeting space, and promotes sustainable agriculture development at the community level by collaborating with small farmers, farming co-ops, community leaders, and local organizations.

The Agriculture Resident Manager will interface with the local government to ensure the various programs are relevant and authorized, manage the center programs, and maintain a well-organized account of all of the activities within the center. Additionally, the Agriculture Resident Manager will maintain the facility and the crops to ensure effective use of equipment and distribution of crops.

Responsibilities include:
  • Work with the national government on various programs, ensuring the work meets government approval.
  • Working with the churches in the area and the nation to ensure inclusion on the project.
  • Scheduling team meetings, classes, and other functions.
  • Supervising the maintenance of the facilities as well as the crops.
  • Providing timely reports of accomplishments, problems, and needs to the Director of the NGO and the Board of Directors.
  • Commitment to promoting the values and programs of the NGO.

Qualifications
  • Good organization and leadership skills.
  • Willing to follow clear directions.
  • Able to work well with other people of different backgrounds, ethnicity, and religions.
  • Proficiency in Spanish.
  • Must communicate respectfully.
  • Background in agricultural or advanced gardening, such as a Master Gardener, preferred.
  • Willing to work in a remote region.
