A Future and a Hope: Ayesha's Story

A Future and a Hope: Ayesha's Story

"Hello, my name is Ayesha,* and I want to share my story of transformation with you. . .

My mom gave me up to a Bangladeshi orphanage when I was only 19 days old. She was too young to provide for me.

I was fortunate to attend school in the local village, and I worked as hard as I could despite being teased for being abandoned.

I knew education could be the key to something better in my life.

When I graduated high school, I met a doctor who started a hospital through IDEAS. They inspired me to dream and imagine a life in the medical field.

My dream turned into a vision to become a nurse, and I received a unique scholarship to attend nursing school.

I could have never imagined it 10 years ago, but I graduated nursing school.

God is so good!

I now work with IDEAS Associates at a small hospital in Bangladesh.

The IDEAS team has become family from seeing where I came from, to now being their colleague.

I love serving communities like the one I was raised in where there is no accessibility to healthcare.

I now teach disease prevention, hygiene, and nutrition, and how to improve medical conditions.

My goal is to finish my Master of Public Health degree and to grow in my gifts and skills to restore transformational hope in my community.

I would not be where I am today without God and IDEAS!"
